One of the band's best known tracks, ‘Over My Shoulder’ is the first single from the album Beggar On A Beach Of Gold and it reached position 12 in the UK and number 9 in France. Lyrics: Looking back over my shoulder I can see that look in your eye I never dreamed it could be over I never wanted to say goodbye Looking back over my shoulder With an aching deep in my heart I wish we were starting over Oh instead of drifting so far apart Everybody told me you were leaving Funny I should be the last to know Baby please tell me that I'm dreaming I just never want to let you go Looking back over my shoulder I can see that look in your eye Turning my heart over and over I never wanted to say goodbye I don't mind everybody laughing But it's enough to make a grown man cry Cos I can feel you slipping through my fingers I don't even know the reason why Every day it's a losing battle Just to smile and hold my head up high Could it be that we belong together Baby won't you give me one more try One more try Looking back over my shoulder I can see that look in your eye I never dreamed it could be over I never wanted to say goodbye Looking back over my shoulder Oh with an aching feeling inside Cutting me up, deeper and deeper Fills me with a sadness that I can't hide Looking back over my shoulder I can see that look in your eye I never dreamed no no it could be over I never wanted to say goodbye Looking back over my shoulder Oh with an aching feeling inside Cutting me up, deeper and deeper Fills me with a sadness that I can't hide Looking back over my shoulder #mikeandthemechanics #overmyshoulder #paulcarrack

Get the notes for free here: 🤍 Take the full course on Lagrangian mechanics: 🤍 When you take your first physics class, you learn all about F = ma-i.e. Isaac Newton's approach to classical mechanics. But there's a lot more to mechanics than F = ma, and modern physicists actually more commonly use two other formulations of mechanics: the Lagrangian and Hamiltonian formalisms. In this video, I'll teach you the basics of both. They're not only powerful approaches to classical mechanics, they're also fundamental to the way we think about quantum mechanics! In this video I'm restoring the hood hinges of my 1973 Datsun 240Z. When I did the panel alignement on the hood of the car, I had to realize that both hinges were worn out. The had enormous play when the hood was closed. The movement in the hinges was around 2cm (3/4 inch) up and down. Installing the torsion bars did eliminate the loose play, but they just pushed all the play upwards, means I could still push the hood down the 2cm. This was especially an issue, because I could not even lower the hood enough to align it with the head light buckets and fenders. The hood was just sitting too high. There was only one solution, to restore the hinges. After disassembly, I first sandblasted all the parts. Then I straigthend all the segments, drilled all holes 1mm bigger and reamed them for a nice and accurate hole. I've also filed all the contours clean to remove the nasty fabrication marks from the punching. After that I chamfered everything and removed all the sharp edges. Then it was time to make 14 new little shafts for the joints. I was sure to measure all the thickness of the parts and diameters to make the new parts fit as tight as possible, yet still having enough play to move. For proper rust protection and also keep the originality to the parts I gave them all for yellow zinc plating to a local company. For the reassembly I didn't apply any grease, because I also plan to paint the hinges in car color like it was originally. Having grease in the joints could mess the paint job up. I'll be sure to lubricate them all after painting. To deform the ends of the little shafts I quickly made a little tool for the hydraulic press. It worked like a charm on the 6t press. The ends of the shafts got now a nice chamfer after pressing and the head got 1mm bigger in diameter. I've also made some test pieces before and cut them in half after pressing and the result was very nice. A very tight and strong hold, a nice rivet connection. I hope you like my work and enjoy the video. In this video I'm showing how I fixed the oil can effect on the tailgate on my datsun 240Z. Everytime you push the lock to open the tailgate the sheet will get pushed in as well. At first I thought something was broken off or defect, but turns out it was most likely like that from the factory. The sheet is just very flat there and not solid enough to withstand the force from pushing the lock. The flat support piece on the backside doesn't really help either. I removed the support piece first, then removed all the rust down to bare metal. I applied some weld through primer for rust protection. I made a new support piece out of 1mm steel. To give it extra strength I've bent the edges up and also made the piece longer to support the whole length. To avoid any warping of the outer shell, I only welded it to the backside. This solution worked very well and the tailgate is now rock solid around the lock. I hope you like my work and enjoy the video. Car dealers and repair shops have been struggling with a shortage of service technicians for years - and the problem has intensified and spread to other jobs during the Covid-19 pandemic. Research from firms such as JD Power and Ducker Carlisle say low pay, a lack of a clear career path, workplace stress, and declining interest in the trades have all made recruiting talent difficult. It is also hard to retain workers - turnover is as high as 50 percent for some jobs. Dealers are taking action. For example, one Ford and Lincoln dealer in California recruits and has created his own in-house training program. Large dealer groups such as AutoNation, Lithia, and Penske may have resources smaller dealerships and independent shops do not. Ducker Carlisle researchers say independent dealers may need more help from manufacturers to compete. » Subscribe to CNBC: 🤍 » Subscribe to CNBC TV: 🤍 » Subscribe to CNBC Classic: 🤍 About CNBC: From 'Wall Street' to 'Main Street' to award winning original documentaries and Reality TV series, CNBC has you covered. Classical mechanics failed to describe how an electron could orbit an atom. An accelerating charge always creates electromagnetic radiation. This means it would constantly lose energy and crash into the nucleus. Only quantum mechanics could explain why this does not happen by showing that electrons exist in quantized orbits proportional to Planck's constant. Louis de Broglie showed that they must be waves. And Erwin Schrodinger developed an equation to explain this wavelike behavior. Max Born came up with the idea that the wave function in the Schrodinger equation should be interpreted as a probability. So quantum objects have only a probability of being found at any particular location in space, which can only be determined once we measure it, not in advance. Quantum objects are not like little basketballs. They are like waves because they create interference patterns like we see in the double slit experiment. The problem is that we only observe particles, not waves. So the concept of measurement was introduced to account for what we observe. The most common interpretation of quantum mechanics is that whenever a measurement is made, the wave collapses and becomes a localized wave, or particle. What is a measurement? Measurement is an interaction, and interaction of the quantum object with some kind of measuring device, more specifically an irreversible exchange of energy. But there is a huge problem. No one can explain how or why this “wave collapse” occurs through measurement. This is called the “measurement problem” in quantum mechanics. And since all our information comes from a measurement of some kind, we can never directly see this quantum world. Everything we observe must go through this measuring process that seems to result in the conversion of quantum objects into particles. #quantummechanics #quantumphysics So how this wave evolves according the Schrodinger equation, is never actually seen. This is a fundamental problem that we need to resolve. In Quantum mechanics, objects have wave-like behavior described by wave functions, which are abstract mathematical solutions to the Schrodinger equation. These waves aren't localized but instead take up all of space. It isn't until you look for a particle that it becomes what appears to be a particle; before that, the particle is a collection of probability waves that theoretically extend out to the entire universe. This has profound consequences. One is called the Uncertainty Principle, which states that you can never simultaneously know exactly where something is, and how fast it is going. More precisely we cannot know the position and momentum at the same time. This is not a limitation of our measuring devices. The universe itself doesn’t know the answer. Why don’t we see this wave behavior in macro objects like a basketball? Well, actually all objects actually do have wave-like behavior! But their wavelength is so small, that you don't notice it. For example, the wavelength of a tennis ball moving 10 meters/second, is 10^-33 m. This is less than the width of a proton. A second consequence of wave-like behavior is nonlocality. A wave exists over multiple regions of space. This nonlocality explains interference, but it also means that waves can add together to give complex interference patterns. This gives rise to strange correlations between such particles, called “Entanglement.” Einstein called this, “Spooky action at a distance” because it appears to indicate instant communication between distant objects at faster than the speed of light, which is forbidden by Relativity theory. But while two or more objects are correlated, no communication is actually happening. The wave behavior of electrons also means that the concept of circular orbits of electrons around the nucleus of atoms, that you commonly see everywhere, is wrong. A better picture is that they exist in a well-defined probability cloud around the nucleus. The main point is that the Universe is quantized. Familiar quantities such as energy, momentum, electric charge, mass – possibly even time and space – are not continuous. They occur in discrete quantum units.
