Now we can do one more enemy type, we've done aggressive and passive, now let's do a timid type that will run away when they see the player. we'll go over all the math to get the players location and make the enemy run away from that location. slight glitch on my version, but i'm thinking it's just my landscape or the way i've shaped my spawner, but if you have a similar issue let me know down below and i'll take a deeper look at it. Now that we've got our enemies able to attack us, let's tweak all the things needed so we can dispatch them and gain xp! we'll go over everything needed to disable their activity and put them through their death animations. we'll also add another enemy type that we can make passive, so that they won't attack us on sight, but become aggressive if attacked! There is a small portion that i edited, if anyone needs a closer look at that portion just leave a comment and i'll address it. Let's do a little tweaking to our wolves to get them to actually attack and move correctly, and then we'll set up all the logic for our enemy to disengage it's attack and return to it's start point if the player gets too far away. We'll set up a new function to measure the distance to the player every few seconds and when too far, tell the wolf (or other enemy type) to go back to where it first saw the player and continue it's randomized patrolling.
now that we can dispatch our foes, let's set up a way to loot their inventory! We'll set it up so that we can define each enemy classes potential loot, run it through a loot checker and see what they actually drop! we'll also set it up so that animal enemies can have a skin defined and added to their list automatically so that they can always be skinned!
in this video, we'll introduce an enemy type, set up his animation blueprint and movement logic, set up his ability to hurt the player and even make him DIE! it could be more brutal XD but yeah we'll set up all the components to make him hurt the player and send them flying backwards and set up a little blinking material that will signify she's been damaged. the videos may get a bit longer from here as we gear up for the RPG series coming once this one is completed :D

Hello, in this devlog, I will be implementing the Artificial Intelligence ( AI ) for mobs ( mainly enemies ) in my game. I will make them move randomly & detect, chase and attack the player. Some will attack in melee, some at range with projectiles that path towards the player to prevent dodging, because I want the player to take damage during fights. I will also fix AOE damage bugs, add critical hits, hits particles, screen shake and damage labels to make the combat feel better and give better feedback to the player. Hopefully you enjoy !
