In this episode we take a look at the RAPHAX. This is a brand new model from Stealthwings based in the Netherlands. Designed for FPV and taking the industry standard 5200mAh 4S pack, it's going to be interesting to see how this model fairs in the sky shortly. Oh and the foam, 11 out of 10. "Wedding Tackle Grade". Raphax Unboxing and my build - I've had the wonderfull opportunity to get my hands on a pre-release version of the Raphax from StealthwingsRC. They wrote: "hey, we have one preview kit left! Are you interested?" ... Hell yeah! So I bought the kit and have been working on that the last days. Let me show you, what I did and how it looks! Weather conditions are not fair currently so there was no time to go for a maiden. So here you see how it was build and what came in the box. This one should go for cruising = I'm not the racer and that's no secret! My setup will be for a cruiser rather than speeding it to the limit. The sky is tempting and the need for sticktime intense- the Raphax is out on a fast and low flight around the landscape! 1000mm wing delivering pleasure and almost finalizes the configuration on it! Nevertheless I will swap crossfire out for ExpressLRS and a 5g8 vtx! Ah ... an some power supply for the GitUp F1 will also be there soon! But thats a different story ... This is the first real flight with the 1000mm wing where we simply can enjoy and don't have the focus on tuning. Blessed with a beautiful sunset the flight really offered some awesome scenery. Before we take-off we run through the setup and assemble the Raphax on-the-fly at the spot. Raphax - the maiden // I've been working on this cuty for some time and posted many pics of it. Now it's time to fly it and hopefully it will! But it was now or never! Think of having a beautiful wing and see the opportunity to either fly it or crash it due to impatience !!! "Let's hope I succeed" ran through m mind Forgot my goggles! crap ... i had everthing with me ... just the Fatshark goggles stayed home as they didn't make it into the bag. Time to test a new motor on the Raphax! My wing man was so nice to hand me a Brotherhobby Avenger 2812 v3 with 1115kv for a test. Took it for a spin with a 9" prop and gave the setup a try. That day we wanted to catch the sunrise but ended up to be blown though the sky due to strong wind! Despite missing the main goal we managed to do a little formation thanks to iNav Radar v2.1 Why the new motor? Well the Motor is 30g lighter compared to the SunnySky X2814-7! A lighter wing is better and with 30g less on the tail the CG balances out much easier :) Does it work? = Yes ... it does. There is no lack of power here. But the overall power consumption is raised about 2-3A compared to the other setup. But it works and it has power enough to get the Raphax across the sky. Will I keep it? = No, I won't! As my focus is on cruising up there as efficient as possible without having to miss anything, I will switch back to the SunnySky X2814-7 (1100kv) and the 10x5" prop. Yet the plan is to align the setup to become the same as on the X6 which swings a 11x4" prop :) Hope this helps some of you in the search for the right setup! Added a cut out for the Runcam 2, moved the CG 5mm back (it's perfect now) and added some board uptrim in INAV. Flies much better now and I can finally start the tuning. I love that plane more and more. Crash test of the upcoming Raphax XL. When testing the new Raphax XL we had to Crash land it due to ground station failure while flying it LOS and lost orientation. Passed durability check!

quite heavy wind and gust. the Raphax is not trimmed, only CG balanced and most of the time flied LOS in Acro. the cam is a Runcam Swift Mini. flight controller Matek 405 Wing with Inav ver. 2.52 VTX power s controller by a clever algoritme by Darren Lines.

Ein kurzer Feierabendsausflug im Abendicht in Begleitung von Pairans Raphax. Gegen Ende der Session kamen noch zwei andere Modelflieger bei uns vorbei, die unsere Flieger zufällig gesehen haben. War ein nettes Gespräch unter Gleichgesinnten (Grüße gehen hiermit raus!). Später beim Durchsehen des HD-Materials ist mir aufgefallen, dass ich einen ihrer Flieger im Bild hatte, ohne es wirklich im Flug zu bemerken. Ob der Vorti mein "Lieblingsflieger" wird, wage ich zu bezweifeln. Dafür ist er etwas zu instabil auf YAW. Aber Spaß macht das Teil schon..... Fixed Wing Group Sunday Live-Stream - Arthur Hendriks will be here with us again and we will talk about the new Stealthwings RC Raphax. The Plane that was designed for our Community, based on Feedback of the Community. We have listened carefully what kind of flying style people in the group like and what they expect from a great universal plane. Arthur put all of his know how into that plane to make it suitable for a wide range of use cases, no matter if you want a fast Cruiser, an acrobatic Wing, a descent Long-Range plane or a stable areal mapping platform. With tons of space inside, outrageous stability and an extremely robust Airframe based on high quality EPP Foam, the Raphax can do all that. In this Stream we will talk about that plane and answer all your questions. We will discuss possible Hardware setups and Marc will also talk about his experience with the Pre-Release build (Videos already on the channel).
