Borderlands 2 is a 2012 first-person shooter video game developed by Gearbox Software and published by 2K. Taking place five years following the events of Borderlands (2009), the game is again set on the planet of Pandora. The story follows a new group of Vault Hunters who must ally with the Crimson Raiders, a resistance group made up of civilian survivors and guerrilla fighters, to defeat the tyrannical Handsome Jack before he can unlock the power of a new Vault. The game features the ability to explore the in-game world and complete main missions and optional side quests, either in offline splitscreen, single-player or online cooperative gameplay. Like its predecessor, the game features a procedurally generated loot system which is capable of generating numerous combinations of weapons and other gear. With the unexpected success of the first game, Gearbox was able to secure a budget of $30–35 million to develop the sequel. Like its predecessor, the game adopted the "concept art style", which features graphics inspired by both photorealistic imagery and comic-book-inspired visuals. The team attempted to address players' feedback from the first game, and recruited Anthony Burch who wrote the game's script which is seven times longer than that of the original game. Among the game's diverse cast of characters, Handsome Jack, the central antagonist, was created to be a charismatic "douche" that mirrors Burch's own personality. Borderlands 2 was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in September 2012, and it was ported to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as part of The Handsome Collection in March 2015. The game received universal acclaim upon release. Critics generally praised the game's visuals, writing, gameplay, and online multiplayer, as well as its variety of guns, while criticising its mission design and content fillers. The handheld and the virtual reality versions of the game were regarded to be inferior to the console and PC versions. More than 20 million units were shipped upon release and the game became 2K's most successful release. It was nominated for multiple year-end accolades by several gaming publications. Gearbox supported the game with four add-on campaigns, new characters and five content packs. The game was followed by Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel in October 2014, and Borderlands 3 in September 2019. According to leaks in August 2023 Gearbox Software has officially begun development of Borderlands 4 on the Unreal Engine 5.

Borderlands 3 is available on Epic Games and Steam. If you bought it on Epic for access 6 months ago, before getting the steam version now too, then you'll no doubt have experienced the save files being platform-bound. at first this can seem like a disaster! "HAVE I LOST ALL MY SAVES???" Well, good news, NO! [ How it works ] Epic Games and Steam both use the 'My Games' folder found in your 'Documents' folder to save your character files. However, each platform uses a separate folder to save your characters. before you can transfer the saves , make sure you launch both the Epic Games version and the Steam version of borderlands (you can close them as soon as you reach the main menu) this ensures the required folder has been created in your documents. [ Find your save files ] Open 'My Games' then 'Borderlands 3' Open the 'Saved' folder and STOP BEFORE GOING BEYOND THIS POINT, COPY THE SAVEGAMES FOLDER AND PASTE IT SOMEWHERE SAFE. Making a backup is always a good idea when changing game files. [ Transfer the saves ] Now go to the original 'SaveGames' folder and open it. you will see two folders inside - one for Epic Games and one for Steam. However, they will be named a random string of numbers and letters , so you'll need to figure out which is which. chances are, if you looked for this video, Epic Games is the one fill of save files and Steam only has one file called 'profile' YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY HAVE MADE A BACKUO AT THIS POINT. Copy all of the contents of the Epic Games folder (the one with all the saves in it) I to the other folder (the one with only 'profile' in it. [ What if I have Epic and Steam characters ] save files are named a number. you can rename the files in the destination folder so they don't get overwritten. [ Test it worked ] Launch the steam version of borderlands. You should see your characters from Epic Games. Note : This method works both ways. you can also make a character on Steam and transfer them to Epic Games. Character are NOT automatically synchronised, so even if you copy the save to Steam, playing on epic won't update the steam file and playing on steam won't update the Epic file. If something went wrong and you didn't make a backup, don't say I didn't warn you. it shouldn't go wrong, it's quite straight forward, but always make a backup

An Ultra HD texture package for Borderlands 2 has been released today. So I compare it with the original textures. I played both versions on the same PC with max settings. My system specs are: GTX 1070, Intel Xeon E3 1231 3.4 GHz, 16GB RAM, Samsung Evo 850 SSD. I had no FPS issues. The differences between the versions are hard to spot if you do not have a 4K monitor. #borderlands2 #borderlandsremastered

The BL2Fix mod (BL2 Overhaul) is seriously one of the coolest and most helpful mods I think I have ever seen in BL2 to date, and 100% makes the game more replayable with all of the changes it introduces. If you're looking to replay BL2 but want a more refreshing experience, I would highly recommend that you guys check it out! I'll have the link to the mod below. Borderlands 3 is an Epic Games Store Exclusive for 6 months until April 2020 and guess what happened. Borderlands got review bombed on Steam as a result. In response to this, our favorite game dev, magician, and Gearbox CEO, Randy Pitchford, decided it was a good idea to attack Borderlands fans and PC gamers on Twitter. Our pal Randy even threatened to pull all Borderlands and Gearbox games off of Steam completely. Attacking your customers is always a great idea.
