Mindfulness is the ability to notice the process (of allocating your attention somewhere) with clarity, to then be able to consciously choose where to allocate your attention. This happens because it helps you to break the link btw feeling and the behavior imperative, by letting go of the feeling. * Why to practice it? Helps you to live more presently, because you stop being lost in thoughts (about the past and future). Bestselling author and leader of the “New Atheist” movement Sam Harris has emerged from the Trump years a full-blown shitlib, most recently telling the shocked hosts of a Libertarian-themed podcast that he was pleased that elements of the security state conspired in the Hunter Biden laptop matter to prevent Donald Trump from winning re-election, comparing another Trump term to the planet being hit by an asteroid. Who cares about democracy, amirite? Jimmy and The DIve host Jackson Hinkle discuss Harris’ political trajectory and how he’s arrived at his current embrace of establishment-serving, pro-censorship, anti-Trump shitlibbery. Iconic Moments From Jordan Peterson Vs. Sam Harris' Debate.. Welcome back to Pursuit Of Meaning. Jordan Peterson and Sam Harris came up with the Vancouver debate of Christian Faith VS Science in the podcasts in 2018. A 60-years-old view on God and religion is that they are not precisely theological, and he does not speak about belief in God. But he claims to be a religious person and tries to understand religious axioms from his psychological point of view other than a metaphysical view. Peterson believes in bringing the western logos to the people through the back door or without church and its dogmas. In the debate, he talked about God from a psychological point of view, and also about science, existentialism, and phenomenology. Moreover, he argued that God's principle is essential to nature and operates regardless of beliefs. He also brought up the words of Eric Weinstein, who is an atheist saying, "Only archetypes of the kind found in religion are sufficiently deep to explain human behaviors." In the debate, Sam Harris talked about the God of Isis and Scientology. He believes in the God of modern, deracinated religions and that they represent the entire history of all religions. Likewise, he puts them all into the same soup, making it an easy and reductive game to play. I mean yes, Trump may be more criminal maybe than Ron DeSantis, I don't want to besmirch Ron DeSantis, yeah it's open it's open competition, but the petty criminality of Donald Trump is not my problem with Donald Trump. My problem with Donald Trump is he does the bidding of the Republican party largely almost maybe exclusively, I mean and everybody he puts in there is the worst of the worst of the Republican party, that's the point.
