Installing Kali inside a VM is easy - where things become interesting is when we want to chose the right solution and the right VM network setup for tools such as wireshark or arpspoof. With the virtual network adapters you don't have direct access to the network hardware. We will have a look at network options with Virtualbox, Hyper-V and Proxmox. I have also compiled a little decision matrix that might help you chose the right solution. We will also have a short look at options how we can map hardware (USB, PCI...) to a virtual machine with the three solutions. #kalilinux #virtualbox #hyperv #proxmox HyperV vs VirtualBox vs Proxmox & VM Networks MANY THANKS TO ALL MY PATRONS on 🤍 !!! Shared storage enables you to set up a single storage repository, and provide access to that repository from multiple servers. If you eventually set up a Proxmox cluster, then shared storage gives you even more flexibility. In this video, you'll see the process of setting up NFS shares in a NAS (TrueNAS used as an example) and then adding those shares to Proxmox VE. 🐧 Visit the official LearnLinuxTV forums and hang out with fellow Penguins ➜ 🤍 Check out Jay's latest book. In this video tutorial, I am gonna show how to setup remote desktop in Kali Linux using XRDP, so that you can use your windows remote desktop to access Kali desktop from anywhere. XRDP is an open-source implementation of the Microsoft Remote Desktop Protocol that allows you to graphically control a remote system. With RDP, you can log in to the remote machine and use your desktop session the same as if you had logged in to a local machine. All you have to do it watch this and just follow the steps. Support the Channel on Patron: 🤍 💻 Terminal Commands: ⌨ # sudo apt update ⌨ # sudo apt install xrdp After XRDP is installed you can start the services with the following command: ⌨ # sudo service xrdp start ⌨ # sudo service xrdp-sesman start ⌨ # sudo update-rc.d xrdp enable ⌨ # sudo service xrdp status Now you should be able to RDP directly into your Kali Linux: That is it! #Proxmox #VirtualBox #Hypervisors Full steps can be found at 🤍 A Little Background First, let me give a little background since this seems like an unnecessary use case. I had the idea of converting a physical Windows PC into a ProxMox VM (P2V) to allow me to better separate the PC resources for different tasks. Currently one of the main uses for the PC is to quickly test different things using VirtualBox. This could be testing new Linux distro releases, working through steps for a new application install tutorial or walking through the steps of an existing tutorial when an issue is reported by a viewer. I have a workflow that I like to use and I didn't want to abandon VirtualBox and migrate the workflow to ProxMox. So, is it possible and if so, how well does it work? 01. Log into the Proxmox Web UI 02. Expand the node and select the target VM 03. Select Hardware from the sub-navigation menu 04. Double click the Processors entry ≫ Set the Type value to host Note: this will passthrough all the functionality of the Proxmox host processor to the VM 05. Start the Proxmox VM 06. Log into the VM 07. Download VirtualBox and the Virtualbox Extension Pack 🤍 08. Install VirtualBox 09. Install the VirtualBox Extension Pack 10. Create or import a 64-bit VirtualBox VM 11. Start the new VirtualBox VM 12. Does is work? ### Connect with me and others ### ★ Discord: 🤍 ★ Reddit: 🤍 ★ Twitter: 🤍
In this video I will show how easy it is to install ProxMox on a PC and install an operating system as a virtual machine in the ProxMox laptop or desktop computer. The links I used in the video: Proxmox.com Etcher.io You can install other operating systems in ProxMox but for this video I wanted to install Linux Ubuntu.
One of the biggest reasons I ever needed to rely on virtualizing the awful Operating System known as Windows 10 in the first place was to play a lot of games that we're once locked away because of anti-cheat solutions. Thankfully Valve and their partners have stepped up to make this a non issue for all of us Linux users. Thanks for watching! Like, Comment and Subscribe for more videos!
